Timing Belts

Timing Belts (also referred to as Cambelts), are the rubber belt which controls thetiming of engine valves, ensuring they are synced and can smoothly open and close.

They naturally wear over time, with an average life span of 30,000 to 50,000 miles, although different manufacturers and models will have different replacement periods.

There are a few symptoms of a damaged or deteriorating belt, most commonly a high-pitched squealing sound as well as the engine juddering, difficulty starting up or oil spots or coolant appearing on the belt.
